Daggermen

About us

Meet our team leader

Built by someone who’s actually been in it — not a company running a platform for veterans from the outside. Military and police in the blood, time on the circuit, and an idea that landed one night during a storm in Syria. Below is the rest of it.

The full story

I was watching an electrical storm come in, in Syria, when the idea came to me.

Not the whole thing — just the idea. The rest came from years of noticing that nobody I served with actually talked about any of it, and the ones who did were only ever talking to each other.

Both my grandparents went to war. One went back again for Korea. My father did his time in uniform too, further into the sharp end than most. There’s a touch of military in me, and a touch of police — banged up in more ways than one along the way. Raised on the ethos, the discipline, the courage, and not much room for anything softer than that.

I had the itch for building things early, and fell into a trade that took me a long way from home — technical, dangerous, the kind of work that doesn’t come with an easy explanation at a dinner party. Eventually I ended up on the circuit, doing security work that took me further still. That is what I was doing the night of that storm, thinking about how much of this nobody back home would ever hear.

Daggermen is where it goes instead.

I’m building this from inside it, not looking in from outside. Vetted by an actual person, not an algorithm. Pseudonymous by default. Nothing here that isn’t earned by being who we say we are.

Some of it you had to be there for. This is just where we tell each other the rest.
