Standing By
The other side of the Muster
The Muster is the work. Standing By is who can do it. A short advert saying what you are good at, what you are licensed for and how far you will go — not a CV, and read by a person before anybody else sees it.
Tier 1 only, on both sides. Reading this board and asking for an introduction come with Tier 1 — the paid membership — and the people reading your listing have it too. There is no public version of this board and there will not be one.
What posting costs
$3.00 a month, or $30.00 a year — $6.00 saved, which is 2 months of it free — on top of Tier 1. Priced in US dollars and converted at the checkout.
One price for everybody. The First 500 rate is a discount on the membership itself, not on this — it does not change what posting costs.
- Reading is included in Tier 1. Posting is not. Your membership gets you onto this board and lets you ask anybody on it for an introduction. Putting your own advert up is the separate add-on.
- Write it and send it first — you are not charged to be read. Lodging an advert needs nothing but Tier 1. A person reads it, and only then does the add-on matter: start it and your advert goes up, and if we say no you have paid nothing. The Muster works the same way round.
- No term and no countdown. Unlike the Muster, which is one payment for a fixed 30 or 90 days, this runs on. Your listing stays up for as long as the add-on is paid for — there is no expiry date and no reminder email, because there is nothing to remind you about.
- It sits on top of Tier 1 and cannot be held without it. If your membership stops, the add-on stops and the listing comes down with it.
- Payments are final once taken — see payment and refunds, which also says what happens if we are the ones who do not deliver.

Read the rules first
Every one of them is enforced by a person reading your listing before anybody else does. Nothing goes up because you posted it.
- Not a CV. No school, no dates, no page of bullet points about synergy. What you are actually good at, what you hold, and where. A listing that reads like a recruiter wrote it is a listing nobody answers.
- The same licensing line as the Muster. If the work needs a licence, say which one and where it is current — and “none applies, and here is why” is a real answer. It is the first thing an administrator reads.
- Nothing current. No operation still running, no client still under contract, no detail that identifies a principal.
- It runs for as long as you keep the add-on, and you choose who sees it — every member, or Tier 1 only. No thirty or ninety days, no countdown: stop paying and it comes down, keep paying and it stays. Change a listing and it goes back in front of a person, which costs you the wait and nothing else.
- One button reaches you. Somebody presses it and Daggermen makes the introduction: an email to you saying who is interested, and an email to them with your address. Both of you get the other’s — we will introduce you both rather than hand out an address. Both sides know, and both get an email. After that introduction we are out of it, and you write to each other directly, off this site, in whatever words you choose.
- It is the address your membership is on. The same one an administrator approved you at — not a second address to keep track of, and no relay that breaks the day it goes down. If that is not where you want work coming, change it on your account before you list.
- We keep a record that somebody asked. We keep nothing about what they said. Four things: who asked, whose listing, when, and nothing else. There is no inbox on this site to read even if somebody wanted to. That record exists for one reason — somebody working a board like this to harvest addresses leaves a trail and it is the only thing that would show it. It is looked at for that and nothing else, and you can see your own.
- Your profile beside it, if you want. It is the same profile and the same switches: what is hidden there stays hidden here, quiet mode is still quiet mode, and a verified claim shows as verified without printing the detail behind it. This board gets no privacy settings of its own for somebody to lose track of. Or leave it off entirely and let the listing speak for itself — plenty will.
Most of what the people here have done was done quietly. Discretion is not a preference in this line of work, it is the job — a great deal of it was never written down, and what was written down sits in a file nobody is going to show you. A board built for that trade does not keep a transcript. The message is not written here, does not pass through here, and is never stored here.
These sit on top of the House Rules, which apply to everything on this site, this board included.
We keep an eye on this page. Anything that smells off gets reported to whichever alphabet-soup agency wants it — CIA, FBI, MI5, MI6, GCHQ, SIS, GCSB, ASIO, CSIS, BND, Mossad, SBU, you name it. We’re not fussy who we call.
That is about what goes up on the board. What the two of you write to each other afterwards never comes near us.
Say what you can do. Let the work find you.
